rambling 4.26.23

  • running a half marathon is pretty rewarding. really glad i did it. i especially like long runs and slipping into a meditative mode. i hope to get to a point where i can run them without feeling like my legs are dying lol
  • "The amygdala is commonly thought to form the core of a neural system for processing fearful and threatening stimuli (4), including detection of threat and activation of appropriate fear-related behaviors in response to threatening or dangerous stimuli." loving this song rn
  • meditating for a few minutes in bed anecdotally really seems to improve my sleep. i fall asleep quicker, wake up fresher, and wake up earlier (need less sleep). this aligns with what i was told at a meditation retreat but not sure why i'm just noticing it now.
  • triathlons are a thing, maybe I'll do one!
  • I've now read 15 books this year!! if I read one more this month, I'll be caught up and just need a 4 a month left.
  • I didn't quite nail my April projects. welp we'll try again next month
  • being > doing. how can I better just accept being? this is so hard to do, yet it's the main thing
