week 1 - dieting

i'm trying to cut or lose weight for the first time in my life. it's going to be a years long effort, i gotta come up with something sustainable for me.

there's a lot to the art here, but i'm starting with tracking my calories and macros for the education. i found something a little under my maintenance that i've been able to stick to this week is 2100 calories. so starting with that and will reduce really slowly, i'm in it for the long run.

i'm trying to prioritize eating hunger crushing combos - eating fiber protein healthy fat at every meal to keep me feeling full.

intermittent fasting helps a lot of ppl with weight loss, but i don't think it is a good fit for me bc i know i won't get in my protein goals and other healthy things if i skip breakfast. but i switched from a heavy breakfast to a light breakfast which seems like a really sustainable change for me.

one big thing i've noticed - when you eat out, the portions are so big and you just have no control. going to have to learn how to manage that reality
