i asked my manager about unplugging from work, and he gave me many useful tips. here was one of them.
when you are trying to stop working and feel like ah, i need to do this one other thing because it is urgent, ask yourself what's the worst that could happen if you don't do this?
often in my role as a PM, everything feels urgent because there's always a person or group of people on the other end of your work. but when you zoom out, only certain things really matter in relation to your performance, moving the needle for the company, and doing the best by your relationships. further, most things can wait.
i'm asking myself this more, so i can realize that most task pressure i feel is really unnecessary, things can wait or be deprioritized
